Mavericks Stop Roadrunners 2-1

DENVER, Colorado – The 11th ranked Colorado Mesa men's soccer team extended its win streak to eleven after a 2-1 win over the MSU Denver Roadrunners on Friday evening at the Regency Sports Complex.

Colorado Mesa got on the board early in the match when Roy Abergil scored in the 6th minute of the match. Abergil's eleventh goal of the season came when Nestor Escobar dished a pass to Abergil who then took a shot from 20 yards out and scored.

The assist by Escobar broke the all-time record for assists. Nestor's assist gave him 15 in his career topping his brother, Marco's mark.

The Roadrunners knotted the match at one on a goal by Danny Arrubla. The goal snapped a shutout streak of seven by Colorado Mesa that dated back to October 3. The Roadrunners were also the last team to score on the Mavericks.

Alan Hernandez scored the game-winner in the 72nd minute of the match when he took a pass from Roy Abergil and one touched it into the net. The goal was his third of the season and his first game-winner.

Micah Conrads picked up the win in goal and improved his record to 7-2-1 on the season.

The Mavericks will close out the season on Sunday with a match against the Regis Rangers.
