ALAMOSA, Colo. – The Colorado Mesa men's swim team won nine events in a double dual meet against Adams State and Wayland Baptist Saturday (Nov. 2) in Alamosa.

Tyler Kaslik won two events in pool record time, the 50 free (21.96) and the 500 free (5:27.85). His time in the 50th ranks 12th fastest in school history.

The Mavericks swept the podium in the 200 free. Garrett Koehler won in 1:48.99, followed by Brett Lowe (1:49.63) and Robert Gasnick (1:59.32).

Mesa also took the top-three spots in the 200 backstroke. Drake Mendelson was first (2:04.29), Ryan Dake second (2:05.02) and Zack Edgar third (2:15.13). Mendelson's time ranks 14th in school history while Dake's is good enough for 16th.

Tyler Kaslik led the final podium sweep of the evening for the Mavericks in the 500 free. He won in a time of 4:57.71, the 16th best in CMU history. Robert Gasnick was second (5:27.33), and Jordan Heggen third (5:27.85).

CMU finished one-two in the 1,000 free. Ryan Gifford won in a time of 10:38.35, and Drake Mendelson was second in 10:57.71. The performances rank 16th and 17th in school history.

 Thomas Stutzriem won the 200 breaststroke in a pool record time (2:12.82) and finished second in the 100 breaststroke (1:00.20). The times rank sixth and seventh best in school history.

Kent Olson-Stavrakas took top honors in the 100 free (48.35) and was third in the 100 fly (53.69). The performances rank 16th and 15th in school history.  

Rob Eisendrath won the 100 back in the 16th fastest time in school history (56.59) and was third in the 100 free (50.09).

Justin Hastings won the 100 fly in a pool record and the eighth fast time in school history (52.17) and was a member of the winning 400 medley relay team (3:35.32). Other Members included Brett Lowe, Kent Olsen-Stavrakas and Peter Szekely.

Other notable performances included Peter Szeekely second in the 50 free (22.34), Ryan Dake third in the 100 back (57.85) and Jordan Heggen third in the 200 fly (2:07.05).

The Mavericks defeated both Wayland Baptist and Adams State in the dual meet. 

Mesa will swim at Colorado School of Mines Sunday (Nov. 3).
