DENVER, Colo. – Colorado Mesa allowed a Metro State goal at the 31:52 mark of the match to drop a 1-0 decision in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference men's soccer match at Auraria Field.
 
The Mavericks are now 4-4-1 on the season and 2-2-1 in the RMAC. All of Colorado Mesa's losses this season have come by a score of 1-0.
 
The Roadrunners goal was scored by Jack Mayfield, it was his first goal of the season. Mayfield took a shot which Maverick goalkeeper Brandyn Bumpas saved but deflected right back to him and Mayfield scored on the opportunity.
 
Colorado Mesa had two good scoring opportunities in the first half but couldn't capitalize on them.
 
The Mavericks will have a chance to split the first half of the road trip on Sunday when they take on the Colorado Christian Cougars.
