Hastings Wins Two Events in Utah

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Justin Hastings won both backstroke events in a dual meet at Utah Saturday (Oct. 26). He won the 100 in 52.21 and the 200 in 1:53.58.

Kent Olsen-Stavrakas posted a pair of second place finishes in the 50 free (21.51) and 100 fly (52.94).

Hastings and Olsen-Stavrakas joined Brett Lowe and Rob Eisendrath to finish third in the medley relay in 1:36.78.

The 200 free relay of Olsen-Stavrakas, Hastings, Peter Szekely and Josh Scheuermann also finished third in 1:27.50.

In the 100 free Josh Scheuermann was second (49.89) and Jason Dahlen was third (50.03).

Tom Stutzriem was second in the 200 breaststroke (2:14.27) and third in the 200 individual medley (2:05.14).

Tyler Kaslik narrowly edged out teammate Jarren Brinton to finish second in the 500 free (4:56.39). Jarren Brinton finished third in (4:56.55) and also finished third in the 1,000 free (10:16.32).

Tyler Kaslik was second in the 500 free in 4:56.39, and Andrew Scott was second in the 200 individual medley (2:05.09).

Brock Martin finished second in 3-meter diving (296.05) and Ryan Popp was third (224.15).

Zach Andregg posted third place finishes in the 200 free (1:47.52) and 100 fly (53.22).

Andrew Scott finished third in the 200 backstroke 2:01.44, and Brett Lowe was third in the 200 breaststroke (2:16.57).

The Mavericks will swim at BYU Saturday (Oct. 26).
