Final Results
Colorado Mesa men's swim team won six of 11 events to win the Adams State / Colorado Mesa dual meet on Saturday afternoon in Alamosa at Plachy Hall Natatorium.
El hozzaz Mehdi notched two pool records winning the 200 free in a record time of 1:47.80. Mehdi was a member of the 800 free relay team to set a pool record to close out the meet. Konstantin Callihan, Alek Anderson and Jordan Heggen along with Mehdi won the event in a time of 7:45.09.
CMU swept the top three places in the 1000-yard free for 16 team points. Jordan Heggen won in a time of 11:20.56. Sonny Hapgood and Justin Skall finished second and third respectively.
Andrew Gibbons and Sean Simpson finished one-two in the 50 free. Gibbons touched the wall in a time of 22.97 and Simpson in a time of 23.06.
Shawn Grace won the 200 fly in a time of 2:08.96. Grace finished ahead of teammate Heggen who posted a time of 2:10.61.
Jakob Matthiessen won the 100 free in a time of 50.43. Sean Simpson was second with a time of 51.69.
CMU will return to the pool this weekend at the Colorado Mesa Invitational on Saturday and Sunday, November 17-18 at the El Pomar Natatorium. Saturday morning's events begin at 10 a.m.
