Mavericks, T-Wolves Play to 1-1 Tie

Box Score

The Colorado Mesa University Men's Soccer team played the CSU-Pueblo ThunderWolves on a cold and windy afternoon in Pueblo, Colo. The two teams ended up playing to a 1-1 tie after 110 minutes. Colorado Mesa's record is now 8-5-4 on the season and 6-4-3 in the RMAC while the ThunderWolves sit at 6-7-5 and 4-5-5 in RMAC matches.

The Mavericks goal came in the 62nd minute of the match when Tim Hofer retrieved a loose ball at the top of the box and found the back of the net. The goal was Hofer's fifth of the season and gave the Mavericks a 1-0 lead.

The ThunderWolves answered with a goal in the 81st minute to knot the match at 1-1 and send the match to overtime.

The two teams played 20 minutes of extra time and nothing was settled.

The Mavericks need a win over Colorado Mines and they will be guaranteed a home playoff match on Wednesday. With a tie and a UCCS loss, they would also host a home playoff match.

Colorado Mesa will take on Colorado Mines on Sunday in Golden. The Mavericks will be looking for their first ever win over the Orediggers.
