Men's Soccer Preview - Colorado Mines & CSU-Pueblo

The Mavericks return home after a five-match road swing over the past two weeks. They will square off with the Colorado Mines Orediggers on Friday before a Sunday matchup with the CSU-Pueblo ThunderWolves. Here is a quick preview of both matches.

Last Meeting: October 11, 2011  -  CSM 4-2 in Golden, Colo.

Last Week for the Orediggers: Colorado Mines dropped a close one to #2 Regis 1-0  then picked up a win over CSU-Pueblo 3-1 with both matches coming at CSM Soccer Field.

RMAC Standings: The Orediggers are in fourth place in the RMAC with 14 points on the season. They trail by four points for second place in the RMAC.

Oredigger to Watch: Tesho Akindele (Jr., Thornton, Colo.) leads the RMAC in goals (14) and points (31). He has four multi-goal matches including a four goal match against Colorado Christian earlier this year.

*The Mavericks will be doning gold and pink jerseys which will be auctioned off following the match with 100% of the proceeds going to the National Foundation for Cancer Research. Other items will be auctioned off and a donation jar will be available*

Last Week for the ThunderWolves: CSU-Pueblo went 0-1-1 in a pair of matches on the road last weekend. The ThunderWolves fell to Colorado Mines 3-1 then had a hard fought tie against UCCS 0-0.

RMAC Standings: The ThunderWolves currently sit in seventh place in the RMAC standings and trail Metro State for sixth place by four points.

ThunderWolf to Watch: Forward Jonny Sawyer (So., Aurora, Colo.) is the ThunderWolves leading goal scorer this season. He had a two goal effort in a 3-0 win over Metro State earlier this season.
