Golden Eagles Soar past Mavericks

Box Score         The CMU men's soccer team concluded its California opening weekend with a 3-0 loss to the Cal State Los Angeles Golden Eagles. Cal State LA scored all three of its goals in a 19 minute span in the first half to secure the win.
        The Mavericks were outshot on the game 17-6 (8-3 1st half, 9-3 2nd half) and only put one shot on goal in the game. CMU had 21 players play in the game and gained valuble experience as the Mavericks will head into the tough RMAC schedule in two weeks.
        Redshirt Freshmen Caleb Ealey (Grand Junction, Colo.) and Micah Conrads (Cortez, Colo.) split time in the match in goal. Conrads made 2 saves in the matcha and Ealey had 3 saves.
        CMU will have its home opener on Friday Sept 9 against Dixie State at 7:00pm at Walker Field. The Mavericks will conclude their home weekend with a non-RMAC match against Adams State on Sunday Sept 11 at 3:00pm.
