Colorado Mesa men's swim team won three of four duals at the Air Force Dual Meet Friday at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. CMU defeated Adams State, Colorado College and Colorado School of Mines. CMU's only dual loss came to host Air Force.
Brock Martin won the 1-meter and 3-meter dive events. Martin scored 282.30 points and 275.45 in the 1-meter and 3-meter respectively. Martin clearly distanced himself from the field sweeping the dual events.
Austin Detra and Kent Stavrakas each won an individual title. Detra won the 500 free in a time of 5:02.91. He placed second in the 1000 free (10:32.03).
Stavrakas won the 50 free title (21.05) and finished third in the 100 butterfly (52.74).
CMU had numerous top five finishes including Cole Kimble's third place in the 1000 free (10:35.38) and fourth in the 500 free (5:10.37).
Drew Vandermeer finished third in the 100 (48.71) and along with team members Tyler Walton, Peter Szekely and Ryan Dake, placed 5th in the 200 free relay (1:28.79). Dake was fourth in the 200 IM (2:05.31).
CMU placed third in the 200 medley relay with the team of Eric Black, Kirk O'Connell, Ryan Kawano, and Justin White (1:40.36). O'Connell finished fifth in the 100 breaststroke in a time of 1:04.13.
Rob Eisendrath placed fifth in the 100 backstroke.
CMU will travel to Golden for dual meet with Colorado School of Mines and Morningside College.
