Fr. Tyler Juby wins his first RMAC Match

#14 Tigers Hand #20 Mavericks Second Straight Loss

        The 14th Ranked Ft. Hays State Tigers won eight of the ten matches en route to an RMAC Dual win against the 20th Ranked Mavericks, 35-6. The loss was the second one in as many nights for Mesa State, who will take to the mats again next Saturday in the Tracy Borah Duals in Gunnison.

        The Mavericks lone wins came from Freshman 149 pounder Tyler Juby and Senior 157 pounder Chase Walker.

        Juby won his bout at 149 pounds over Tiger Levi Younkin, 10-5. Juby's record improves to 8-5 on the season and 1-2 in the RMAC. Earlier in the season, Tyler placed 2nd in the Old Chicago Northern Colorado Open.

        In the match of the night, #2 Chase Walker squared off with #3 Tiger Danny Grater. Walker held the all-time edge with Grater, 3-0, coming into the match including the 5th Place match at the NCAA Championships last March.

        Chase Walker would once again get the upper hand as he defeated Grater, 3-2. Walker's record is now 12-4 on the season and 3-0 in the RMAC.

        The Mavericks will be back home on Friday January 29th to take on the Grand Canyon 'Lopes.
