Mavericks Cap Season with loss to UCCS

            The Mesa State Men's Soccer team capped its season on Sunday with a loss to the UCCS Mountain Lions, 2-1. Mesa State finished with a record of 2-15-2 and 2-11-1 in RMAC play.

            After one half of play the score remained tied at 0-0 with UCCS outshooting the Mavericks 11-3. Sr. Josh Tinaglia (Littleton, CO) made the start in goal and made 4 saves in the first half. 

            RSo. Billy Martinez (Colorado Springs, CO) came out to start the second half in goal for the Mavericks.

            UCCS' Riley Gallagher started the second half scoring with a goal in the 58th minute to put the Mountain Lions up 1-0. It was Gallagher's 3rd goal of the season.

            Less than two minutes later, Maverick Sr. Tyler Amerman (Littleton, CO) scored his first goal of the season to even the score at 1-1. Amerman took a pass from Jr. Alex Mattevi (Loomis, CA) and found the back of the net.

            UCCS' Michael Flynn scored the game winning goal in the 79th minute of play to lead UCCS to the win, 2-1.

            The Mavericks have concluded their 3rd season of play and would like to thank all the people that have supported them all year long.
