Mesa State men's swim team dropped a dual meet to Air Force Academy Friday night at the Air Force Academy. The Falcons men's team defeated MSC 162-95 in the 16-event dual meet.
The Mavericks recorded 12-second place finishes in their first head-t0-head dual this year. Four different Mavs posted dual second place finishes.
Scott Strehlow placed second in the 200 (1:54.16) and 500 freestyle (5:10.67). Travis Pahler was second in the 100 breaststroke (1:09.12) and 200 breaststroke (2:31.57). Kent Stavrakas finished second in the 50 freestyle (22.26) and the 100 freestyle (49.85). Pahler and Stavrakas were members of the second place 200-yard medley relay team along with David Baker and Dylan Fabrizius.
Dan MacDonald placed second in the 100 butterfly (55.40) and 200 butterfly (2:09.82). Scott Strehlow finished second in the 200 freestyle (1:54.16) and 500 freestyle (5:10.67). The 400 freestyle relay team of MacDonald, Adam Tway, Stavrakas and Strehlow finished second (3:55.93).
Mesa State will swim at Colorado College Saturday in a dual meet beginning at Noon.
