Dan MacDonald records two top three finishes at RMI

MSC Men’s Swim Team Posts 1-2 Record

MSC men's swim team posted a 1-2 record Friday and Saturday at the Rocky Mountain Invitational at Colorado School of Mines in Golden.

The Mavericks posted a win each day over Metro State's swim club and lost to host Colorado School of Mines and CU-Boulder's club team.

In Friday's session Dan MacDonald placed third in the 100 freestyle (50.48). Travis Pahler finished third in the 100 breaststroke (1:08.88).

Marshall Thurman finished fourth in the 100 butterfly (56.52) and fifth in the 50 freestyle (23.50). Jordan Cahill placed second in the 3-meter dive and third in the 1-meter dive.

MSC had fifth place finishes by Dylan Fabrizius in the 200 freestyle (1:56.87) and Scott Strehlow in the 500 freestyle (5:10.77).

Saturday the Mavs' Dan MacDonald took third in the 200 butterfly (2:09.89) and fourth in the 400 IM (4:42.38). Scott Strehlow brought home two fourth place finishes in the 1650 freestyle (18:18. 77) and the 50 freestyle (23.69).

Travis Pahler finished fourth in the 200 breaststroke (2:29.14) and Marshall Thurman placed fifth in the 200 freestyle (1:56.23).

Diver Jordan Cahill placed second in the 1-meter dive competition.

Mesa State will travel to the Air Force Academy on October 30 for the Air Force Invitational. On October 31 the Mavericks will compete at Colorado College.
