The Mesa State Mavericks rough season continued this past weekend as they played to a 1-1 tie at Colorado Christian and lost to #14 Colorado Mines, 3-0. The Mavericks record now sits at 2-11-2 and 2-7-1 in RMAC play.
Against Colorado Christian, Mesa State got into an early hole as Cougar Taylor Shade found the right side of the net in the 26th minute. The goal gave the Cougars a 1-0 lead heading into halftime.

Ethan Johnson (Grand Junction, CO) scored the equalizer in the 62nd minute. Johnson's goal was his first of his collegiate career came on a free kick and helped Mesa State send the game to overtime.
Mesa State had numerous oppurtunities in overtime as they outshot the Cougars 12-2 but only 5 of those shots were on goal. After the second overtime both teams had to settle for the tie.
The Mavericks outshot Colorado Christian for the match 34-12.
In Sunday's match, the 14th ranked Orediggers were just too much for Mesa State as they went on to win 3-0. The Mavericks outshot the Orediggers 13-9 but only 3 of those shots were on goal.
Mines found the back of the net in the 44th and 47th minutes then received an own goal in the 82 minute.
Mesa State will be back at home this Friday at 7:00pm to take on the Regis Rangers.
