After a scoreless first half between Colorado Mines (6-4-2, 4-1-2) and Mesa State (7-6-0, 3-4-0) Friday night at Walker Field, the Orediggers shutout of the 25th ranked Mavericks with two second half goals.
Mines took a 1-0 lead at 64:38 on a goal by Cale Haas following a well executed play on a 4-on-4 match up and a pass from Ted Decker to Haas. CSM scored an insurance goal with just under three minutes remaining in regulation when Max Nevermann found the back of the net off a ricochet shot from Lacinski.
MSC was out shot 12-7 and committed nine fouls to Mines' four. Sam Dixon (5'11, Missoula, MT) and Marco Angelo (5'8, Sandy, Utah) each recorded two shots.
The Mavericks will look to snap a four game losing streak Sunday afternoon at Fort Lewis College.
