Cole Sweetser begins his first season as an assistant coach for the men’s soccer program. Sweetser will team with his former teammate in head coach Todd Padgett to guide the Mavericks.
Sweetser was a NSCAA First Team All-American and helped lead Fort Lewis to the 2005 NCAA Division II National Championship. He ranks second all-time in both Fort Lewis and RMAC history in career points (136) and goals (58). He was named to the RMAC All-Century Team and the Fort Lewis All-Sport All-Century team.
He has served in a variety of roles in the Durango soccer community. Most recently he was a volunteer coach at Fort Lewis and was the assistant director of coaching at the Durango youth Soccer Association. He was also an assistant coach at Durango High School.
Sweetser has earned numerous awards from Colorado Youth Soccer and holds a USSF National C License. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a focus in marketing from Fort Lewis.
