A Western slope native, Brad Gamble was announced as the Head Track & Field coach at Colorado Mesa University during the summer of 2017 after a successful stint as the Head Coach at Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference rival Chadron State College.
During his time at Chadron State, Gamble coached 26 All-Americans and 36 RMAC Champions and led the team to six runner-up finishes and a 2016 women's outdoor RMAC championship, the Eagles' first and only.
He then led the Eagles to a third place finish at the 2017 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships, good for the Eagles' first and only NCAA Division II trophy in any sport.
In his three seasons (2014-17) with the Eagles, Gamble led his athletes to 60 school record performances and led four different individuals to a total of seven NCAA Division II National Championships while guiding a pair of athletes who competed at the 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials.
Under Gamble's tenure, the Eagles also brought home 17 All-America honors for indoor competition, and 15 for outdoor track and field. The team also produced 11 individual RMAC Champions for indoor season, and 15 at the outdoor meets.

Additionally, out of the 76 active school records, more than half (40) were broken or tied over the course of his three seasons.
Â
His student-athletes also excelled in the classroom, earning six Academic All-America accolades and 31 RMAC All-Academic First Team selections. Both CSC men's teams in 2016 and the women's indoor team in 2017 finished atop the conference for team grade point average, with the 2016-17 women's squads boasting the nation's fourth-highest team GPA.
A former standout collegiate student-athlete himself, Gamble competed for one season at Chadron State and set a Division II Indoor Track and Field National Championship meet record while winning the heptathlon in 2010 before following that up with a runner-up finish in the decathlon at the outdoor national championships.
Prior to Chadron State, Gamble had a solid career at Hastings (Neb.) College, becoming a two-time All-American before graduating with a degree in physical education in 2010. Following his graduation, he taught at Eagle Valley High School, his alma mater, and coached the throwers.Â

Gamble also graduated with a master’s degree in organizational management with an emphasis in sports management from Chadron State in May, 2014.
