Colorado Mesa (3-0) ran past Hillsdale Free Will Baptist College in its home opener 87-24 in the Clarion Inn Thanksgiving Classic in Brownson Arena.
The Mavericks had four players register double digits, including Kelsey Sigl's 18 points in 15 minutes of action. Sigl added nine rebounds and finished with four assists.
Leanndra Gilbert recorded a double-double with 10 points, 10 rebounds and a game high three blocked shots off the bench.
Sharaya Selsor finished with 14 points, five rebounds and two assists. Laurel Kasel added 11 points, hitting 3 of 6 from the 3-point line.
CMU jumped out to a 25-2 lead and held a 48-12 halftime advantage. The Mavs shot 43 percent from the floor and held a 58-24 rebound margin over the Saints.
The Mavericks set two records in the contest; Fewest points allowed by an opponent and margin of victory. CMU allowed just 24 points in the win over Hillsdale College, breaking the previous record of 26 points set in 1979 (Regis - 26 points). The Mavs 63-point margin of victory erased the previous mark of 50 points set in 2010 (twice) versus Colorado College and Northern New Mexico.
CMU will host Mid-America Christian on Saturday at 5 p.m.
