Bryant Leads Mavs on Day One at NCAA Championships

INDIANAPOLIS – Sam Bryant of Colorado Mesa University earned the first All-American honor of his career after placing sixth in the 1,000 free at the NCAA Div. II Swimming and Diving National Championships Wednesday (March 9). He finished in a time of 9:12.33.

The men's 200 medley relay finished 12th in a time of 1:29.31. Members of the team included Justin Hastings, Josh Bedford, Chris Radomski and Sky Hirsch.

Sky Hirsch and Chris Radomski finished 25th (20.45) and 49th (21.00) in the men's 50 free, and Mary Saiz placed 45th (24.04) in the women's.

Cassi Blakeman finished 19th on the women's three-meter board with a score of 411.30.

Josh Bedford placed 24th in the 200 individual medley (1:51.24), and Kyle Johnston was 26th in the 1,000 free (9:45.69).

The NCAA Championships continue through Saturday (March 12) in Indianapolis.
