GRAND JUNCTION, COLO. – The Colorado Mesa University swimming and diving teams opened the 2016-17 season with day one action of the Intermountain Shootout Friday (Oct. 7).
Chris Radomski finished second in the 50 fly in a time of 22.85 and was the Mavericks top finisher in the 50 free (21.98) placing 10
th.
Josh Bedford placed third in the 100 individual medley (52.46) and fourth in the 100 breaststroke (58.30).
Morgan Bean tied for fourth in the 50 fly (23.37).
Mary Saiz posted the top finish for the women placing fourth in the 100 backstroke (57.88).
Sam White finished fifth in the 100 breaststroke (1:07.47), and
Miranda Reetz was eighth in the 100 individual medley (1:00.95).
Diving was a bright spot for the Mavericks. Cassie Blakeman and
Brittany Dixon tied for fourth on the one-meter with a score of 205.45.
Abigail Smith finished eighth (192.55) and
Kelsey Vreeman was ninth (189.55).
Noah Macomber was the top finisher on the men's three-meter placing third (268.00) while
Sage D'Ambrosia was fourth (239.45).
Both the men's (1:35.15) and women's (1:47.78) 200 medley relay teams finished fifth.
Other top-10 finishes for the Mavericks included:

th in the 50 fly (26.77),
Eric Berg in the 100 back (53.78),
Sam Bryant 10
th in the 400 individual medley (4:13.14),
Ethan McNally in the 100 individual medley (54.53),
Eric Lammon eighth in three-meter diving (207.90) and
Isaac Miller 10
th in three-meter diving.
Colorado Mesa will close competition at the Intermountain Shootout Saturday (Oct. 7).
