The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference released its men's soccer academic teams this morning. Six Mavericks have been named to the list. To qualify for Academic All-RMAC, student-athletes must have a GPA of 3.30 or better, be a starter or reserve, and completed two consecutive semesters or three quarters at their current institution.
Senior
Bashiru Ali was named to the 1st Team. Ali has been the Mavericks top defender for two seasons now. Last season, Ali was named All-RMAC 2nd team for his defensive work that saw CMU clinch a postseason berth for the first time in the program's history. Bashiru currently has a 3.73 GPA and is working towards a degree in finance.
Redshirt Freshman
Stevie Palma was named to the 2nd Team. Palma is the Mavericks leading scorer on the season with 9 points (3g, 3a). It is the first award that Palma has received. Stevie will get his degree in Business and has a 3.64 GPA.
Jay Cort,
Danny Molineaux,
Stan Schrock, and
Ethan Johnson were all named to the Honor Roll. It is the first time each have been recognized on the Academic List.
Metro State's Marc Herschberger was named the RMAC Academic Player of the Year.
